Our Mission
The creation of the documentary feature film THE FIGHT TO FIGHT is an act of service led by women who have served.
Our goal is to reach venues and target audiences where the documentary’s themes — fighting to defend our nation in times of crisis while also fighting for justice and fairness — will bring about cultural, social and institutional change that opens doors.
The film will resonate with anyone who has felt impacted by, or is concerned with, the persistence of bias in American life, especially in the workplace and large institutions. All people and groups who fight for fair and equal treatment will recognize this story as a lens through which to view their own struggles.
The film intends to elevate and advance dialog about the seeds of bias not just in the military but in the broader society.
While military ground combat units are “technically” open to women today, they continue to be a hostile environment. Success will be achieved when ground combat units offer equal treatment and opportunities to both men and women.
We aim to show the American public and those in the military that brave women are currently serving and succeeding within ground combat units despite gender-based obstacles.
We want to extend major appreciation to the many individuals and donors who have supported the making of this film, especially The Film Collaborative, Simon Fraser University, the Pritzker Military Foundation, Women in International Security, and the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
