Exciting Milestone: THE FIGHT TO FIGHT Lands Major Grant
We are thrilled to share some exciting news — THE FIGHT TO FIGHT documentary film has secured its first large grant! This achievement marks a significant milestone in our journey and is a powerful validation of our mission to support women in the military.
A generous grant from the Pritzker Military Foundation – a $50,000 gift plus a $50,000 matching “challenge” grant – escalates the momentum we’ve built since launching our fundraising campaign last fall.
To date, our grassroots campaign has raised $59,000 from 93 individual donors. I am deeply grateful for each and every contribution made by these individuals. Many have told us they feel a strong connection to our film because, as one supporter put it, “this story needs to be told.”
The grant from the Pritzker Military Foundation adds significantly to our initial round of funding, and puts us on a strong footing to shift into the next phases of THE FIGHT TO FIGHT documentary film project.
Full Steam Ahead
Our team is deeply grateful to the Pritzker Military Foundation because its grant represents much more than financial support. It serves as a validation of the work we have done so far and puts an exclamation point on our first fundraising campaign.
It sets the stage nicely for us to seek other large donors as we shift focus to a second round of fundraising, one where donations are effectively doubled due to the matching portion of the grant.
Our current funds enable us to move full steam ahead with filmmaking, fieldwork and editing. They also give our team a big shot of confidence as we begin preparing for the final phases of the project – post-production, screenings, distribution and educational outreach. Every step forward we take strengthens our resolve to document and share the untold stories of amazing women in the military.
Encouragement Fuels Determination
Well over 100 men and women have either contributed to our film or signed up to join our community of supporters. Their encouragement fuels our determination to amplify the voices of women in uniform.
For everyone reading this blog, you can help build our community of support by forwarding the blog to family, friends and colleagues who might be interested in our mission. Building a large group of supporters will demonstrate how deeply the mission of our film resonates with a broad audience.
Another way to show support is to consider making a donation now so it will qualify for dollar-for-dollar matching funds. Special note about donating: The Pritzker Military Foundation has stipulated that those who have previously donated to our film must make a new gift that is larger than the previous donation to count toward matching funds.
Thanks to these recent milestones we are more committed than ever to make a film that tells the stories of heroic women in the military whose struggles, triumphs and resilience will inspire the next generation to serve!
Joy Bronson served as a Naval Aviator from 1986 to 1993 and is the Director/Producer of THE FIGHT TO FIGHT documentary feature film.
The Fight to Fight documentary feature film is at a pivotal stage in and needs your support to reach completion. Donations are critical and greatly appreciated, however it is also helpful to sign up to receive our blog and pass on our website link to friends, family and colleagues who are veterans or who care about equality for women.
